As of March 29, 2026, one At-Large Member position is now vacant within Metro Detroit DSA’s Steering Committee, and the Steering Committee is accepting nominations for an Interim At-Large member until 11:59pm on April 25. You can review the At-Large Member’s description in Article VI § 7 in the bylaws.
The Steering Committee will then appoint an acting successor at the April 26 Steering Committee meeting from the list of submitted nominees. The acting successor will serve in the At-Large role until the Membership is able to officially vote to elect the appointee to serve out the remaining tenure of the position. This vote will occur via OpaVote after the next Membership Meeting on May 16 where the appointee will address the Membership (you can review the process in Article V § 6).
The interim At-Large Member will begin their term as soon as they’re appointed by the Steering Committee, and continue to serve out the rest of the position’s term until June 30 (as stated in Article V § 1.1) after being voted in by the Membership.
